Hi, my name is Laura and I am a year 9 gate student this year. In gate this year at the moment I am creating a stop-motion mini movie using Lego with Francesca and Fiona. We are well on our way with our project and I think we are making good progress.
In school I like most of my subjects but my favorites are Maori, PE, Maths and English. My main hobbies are reading and playing soccer/football and spending time with my friends.
Thanks for reading :)
This is our space where Junior GaTE students can, share their inquiry based learning, clarify thinking and present findings. It is also a place for parents and caregivers to find information and support .

Hi. My name is Sam, and I am new to the GaTE program this year. I am in year 10. My GaTE project this year is studying Wolf-Hirschhorn Syndrome, which is the syndrome that my oldest brother has, I am doing this as my project as I wish to know more about how it works.
I am currently reading a book on the syndrome, and am highlighting some key points.

Niko's 2015 Gate Project
My project for this year is to do with the new Mairehau Marketing Team that has started up this year. I will be making a promo/recap video for 2015, I have already started filming and I have already made a small video about what the students think about the school. I am really excited to finish this project because I know that I am going to learn a lot about film and editing.

Niko's Gate Project
I have finished my gate project. My gate project question is, What does each component in an electronic circuit do, and how do they support each other? I have explained what the simple and most common components do and have made an example circuit and explained what it does and how it does it. If you want to see the PowerPoint you can either click this link below or go to the investigate projects at the top right of this page.

Georgie's project
I'm Georgie and in the GATE programme I've been focusing on Sherlock Holmes and the changes throughout the Sherlock Holmes timeline.
Recently I've been looking at the changes in the sciences during the writing of the Sherlock Holmes novel and seeing how they may have shaped the writing and the things that we have now such as television shows and movies. In the last couple of lessons I've been leaning more towards researching the more modern side of Sherlock Holmes which would be the television show Sherlock- which is a favourite of mine. This picture is a clipping from one of the kind of flow charts that I've done having the changes in the sciences that I thought might have shaped the writing, in this case the year is 1890, I apologise if the picture is too small to read.
